Rumble Update
Rumble is growing....and growing....and growing!
At 12 weeks of age, he is already 35 lbs, and from what I hear, already potty trained as well.
He is doing great in his new home. Below are pictures of his arrival, his first day attacking a giraffe (big expectations!), and an updated photo at 10 weeks.
You're look'n good, Rumble!

Chapter Two: Getting Started
The day after delivery, Rayne felt much better. She stayed close to her babies and thought "These are the most beautiful babies in the world", just as any mom thinks about their children.
The sun was shining, and it was a beautiful summer day. Rayne dreamt of laying outside in the cool grass, sunning herself in the warm rays, chasing chipmunks, and playing with toys. But her place was right here, with her newborns.
She only went outside to relieve herself, then rushed back and counted her babies. Her nose touched each of her precious bundles: one, two three, they are all here and accounted for.

Rayne has more than enough milk to feed her pups, and they are growing leaps and bounds. The babies take turns between sleeping and eating, sleeping and eating. They are a quiet bunch, Rayne keeps them well fed, spotlessly clean and warm. The babies were weighed again at 11 days and Rumble tips the scale at 3 lb 2 oz. Miss Sunny is second at 2 lb 9 oz and Summer is 2 lbs 3 oz.

Sunny being weighed, she already fills the bowl
The next several days, Rayne was the perfect mom. She was never far from her little ones, laying just outside the pen. They growl in the sleep and dream, their little feet twitching and moving.

Chapter One: The Arrival
It was a dark and stormy night. Clouds raced across the sky, lightning danced and thunder rumbled.
A summer storm was brewing. Rayne was showing the first signs of labor: panting, nesting, pacing, and the storm didn't help her nerves. Normally never affected by storms, tonight she was on edge. Perhaps is was the annoying pressure and pain that squeezed at her belly. Thankfully, she had a nice warm dry place inside to have her babies.
The storm blew through, and although rumblings continued in the far distance, the night soon settled into a quiet peace. Rayne was restless all night long, taking cat-naps. Her time was drawing near.
Sunrise was early, before 6 AM. The birds were singing, there was a light misty fog, and the air smelled cool, clean and damp. By mid-morning Rayne's nesting was getting much more serious, and her contractions were coming closer together. The early morning blue sky was starting to cloud over as another shower moved in. Just as the rain started to fall, Rayne's first born girl arrived. A beautiful light brown sable, she was given the Sky Blue ribbon and named Summer Shower. Twenty minutes later, as the sun started peeking out from between the clouds, Rayne's second girl arrived. Another light brown sable, a twin to the first girl. She was given the bright Yellow ribbon and named Rae of Sunshine.
Rayne then rested for almost two hours, allowing her new daughters to nurse. The sun was shining, the breeze was gentle, and a calmness settled over the summer afternoon. A couple of contractions and Rayne's third puppy arrived. This was her first born son. He was by far the biggest and strongest of the three, a very determined little boy. He was given the dark green ribbon and named Rumbling Thunder.
Exhaustion had set in, and sleep was needed. Rayne peacefully closed her eyes and rested.
Summer, Sunny, and Rumble all nestled close to their mom for the night.

Well, what else could you expect with a sire named Skye and a dam named Rayne?
Surely a sunny day would be out of the question!
The thunder is rumbling, the lightening is flashing and the raindrops are falling, as our Rayne prepares for her babies. Her temperature has dropped and labor has begun. Stay tuned for chapter one....
